I once gave Claude everything it needed for a project: the background, the goals, the files. Claude didn’t read any of it even though I told it what to look at and why.
After making several mistakes in the first few minutes, I stopped everything to ask Claude what was going on.
I asked where I'd gone wrong. Had I not given it enough context? Were my instructions not clear?
Claude said I'd been clear. It just hadn't read what I gave it. 🤦♀️
Then there was the time that Claude gave me years of experience I didn’t have.
I was tailoring my resume for a pelvic health role. My resume says I have 18+ years of operations experience, and Claude stretched the 5 years I ran a pelvic health program into 18 years of pelvic health experience. 🙄
This is one of the more frustrating parts of using AI: the hallucinations, the stretching, and the drifting from reality.
What’s even worse, if something wrong gets into what your AI remembers about you… and you don't catch it, it keeps showing up. Sometimes your AI will pull up random things from months ago and talk about it like it was yesterday.
So how do you keep your AI from making things up, get to the point where AI doesn’t waste more time than it saves, and finally trust it enough to offload some of your tasks?
Because that’s the goal right? To get AI to do things for you?
